Overview
LPHI seeks to strengthen organizations, communities, and individuals by providing training and technical assistance, consultation, coaching, and resources to enhance skills, effectiveness, and collaboration in addressing public health, healthcare, and community health challenges.
Our capacity building teams work across a wide range of technical and subject areas, from clinical transformation in healthcare settings, to behavioral health (mental health and substance use) and wellness, sexual and reproductive health, workforce development, building and expanding health information technology, and many more.

We activate boards, C-suites, and leaders. We galvanize and equip teams, staff, and workers with strong skills and passionate approaches to achieve public health impact at every level.
Areas of Focus
Training and Skill Development: Our capacity building efforts utilize customized training and technical assistance offerings, learning collaboratives, communities of practices, workshops, coaching, consultation and mentorship to equip individuals and the organizations the work in with the necessary skills and knowledge to advance their practice.
Organizational Strengthening: Our capacity building offerings include supporting organizations in developing effective structures, policies, and procedures, and monitoring and evaluation supports to improve their efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability.
Resource Allocation: We have a 20+ year successful track record of distributing and administering over $200 million in resources, such as funding, technology, or equipment, to support public health initiatives and partners across the Greater New Orleans area, Louisiana, and the Gulf Coast.

Data and Clinical Transformation: We support clinical transformation, combining skilled practice coaches with extensive clinical expertise in factors that influence patient health outcomes and health care costs. We support health care delivery systems to achieve success in value-based payment arrangements with Medicaid and Managed Care, building and maintaining Health Information Exchanges, and analytic services. We support health care organizations in transforming their operations to provide quality, patient-centered care.
Partnerships and Collaboration: Our capacity-building work is rooted in building sustainable health ecosystems for the people of Louisiana and the Gulf Coast. We do this through coalition and collaborative building. Authentic partnerships and engagement between different organizations and stakeholders are crucial for successful capacity-building efforts.
Tools Development: We equip the field with practical, evidence-based solutions to enhance effectiveness through user-friendly guides, toolkits, templates, and training materials. We develop well-designed resources that empower public health, community, and clinical professionals to implement programs more efficiently, adapt to changing needs, and sustain impact over time.
