Adia Heisser

Adia is a public health professional based in New Orleans whose work is rooted in a commitment to social justice and community well-being. Her approach is shaped by a deep appreciation for the Gulf Region’s communities and cultures, as well as her lived experiences growing up in Louisiana. Her professional interests include health equity and the intersection of environment and community health.

Her work supports the Gulf Hub initiative, which strengthens community health centers across the Gulf Coast by strengthening climate resilient healthcare, community-centered disaster preparedness, and a regional learning infrastructure - helping ensure that all communities have fair and just opportunities to be healthy and well.

Outside of her professional work, she can often be found working in her garden, exploring local art shows, or writing short stories. She earned her Bachelor’s in Public Health and Environmental Studies from Tulane University.
