Building a Healthier Gulf Coast: LPHI Named a $20M Gulf Futures Award Winner

Shelina Davis, MPH, MSW, Chief Executive Officer, announces the Gulf Hub initiative, a five-year effort led by the Louisiana Public Health Institute (LPHI) and supported by the National Academies’ Gulf Futures Challenge. Gulf Hub will transform Gulf Coast Community Health Centers into Learning Resilience Hubs—climate-adaptive facilities designed to maintain care during disasters. Through resilient infrastructure, clean energy, and a regional data network, the initiative strengthens access to care for more than 4 million residents.
