2011 Louisiana Community AIDS Partneship Grantmaking
St John #5, Camp ACE (New Orleans
St John #5, Camp ACE is a faith-based, nonprofit organization increasing and broadening the perspectives of economically disadvantaged children, youth and adults with an array of educational, social, health and cultural services. Funding will be used for HIV testing throughout the New Orleans area.
Capitol City Family Health Center (Baton Rouge)
Capitol City Family Health Center (CCFHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center that was established to provide affordable health care services for uninsured and underinsured residents living in medically underserved areas of the city. This funding will allow CCFHC to provide eye care- both exams and glasses for patients with HIV/AIDS.
HIV/AIDS Alliance Region Two (Baton Rouge)
HIV/AIDS Alliance Region Two (HAART) is a nonprofit organization improving the community through health and wellness education and the provision of comprehensive quality service by providing services to improve the quality of life. The funding will allow HAART to implement the WILLOW Project which is an evidence-based intervention for HIV-positive women.
Volunteers of America (Baton Rouge)
Volunteers of America is a faith-based, nonprofit organization and is one the nation's largest and most comprehensive human services organizations, serving more than 2 million people each year. This funding will allow Volunteers of America to support a Benefit Specialist position to assist clients in filling out applications and follow up on denials and appeals. This position will be shared across AIDS Service Organizations in Baton Rouge.
Southeast Louisiana Area Health Education Center (Hammond)
Southeast Louisiana Area Health Education Center (SELAHEC) is a community based organization affiliated with the LSU School of Medicine and is dedicated to making our communities a better place in which to live. The funding will allow SELAHEC to adapt and implement the Community Popular Opinion Leader (C-POL) HIV prevention intervention in select rural communities to advance translation of alcohol and HIV/AIDS prevention research among African Americans.
Southwest Louisiana AIDS Council (Lake Charles)
Southwest Louisiana AIDS Council (SLAC) is a non-profit, community based organization that provides services to individuals with HIV/AIDS and to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS in Southwest Louisiana. Funding will allow SLAC to implement a health navigation program for high-risk negatives- individuals considered at high risk of becoming infected with HIV/AIDS.
