Jefferson Parish School-Based Health Centers
“I’m not sure where some of these children would end up if it weren’t for our school-based health centers. For some, we are their only source for medical and mental health care.”
She is Lynn Hobbs and her organization is The Eyes Have It, a nonprofit agency that offers vision screenings, eye examinations and free or discounted eyeglasses to students at public schools in the New Orleans area.
SRC, which is a program of the Daughters of Charity Services of New Orleans, not only provides trauma, violence and bullying prevention, it is also there to assist in individual, group and family therapy.
